Dr. Kenneth Tompkins is a board-certified endocrinologist who joined Endocrinology Specialists of Colorado in 2020. He has an interest in all aspects of endocrinology and treats patients with all varieties of endocrine issues. He maintains a philosophy that chronic diseases, such as those treated in endocrinology, are most successfully treated when the patient is educated and empowered. To that end, he seeks to partner with his patients to provide outstanding evidence-based care. Dr. Tompkins has a particular interest in pituitary and adrenal disease, stemming from research he did at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Tompkins is originally from a small town outside Kansas City, Missouri. He attended undergraduate and medical school at the University of Missouri – Columbia. Following medical school, he moved to Denver to complete his internal medicine residency at the University of Colorado. After completion of residency, he spent several years in practice as an internist and hospital medicine doctor before returning to fellowship. He completed his fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at the University of Colorado in 2018. He remained at the University of Colorado until 2020, where he participated in a research program focusing on treatment of pituitary tumors as well as adrenal cancer.
Dr. Tompkins’ training and research background has afforded him the opportunity to be abreast on all the latest medical literature and scientific data. He looks forward to bringing this information to his patients at ESC to provide outstanding, patient-centered and evidence-based care. When he is not working, Dr. Tompkins enjoys spending time with his loved ones and close friends. He loves to be active and explore the beauty that Colorado has to offer.
